2018 District Honor Unit

Starting in 2018, the Appalachian Trail District is introducing a new Honor Unit Award for recognizing scouting units in our district that execute a well-rounded scouting program and participate in activities that strengthen local scouting.

 This award is intended to be an accompaniment to ‘Journey to Excellence’ and can only be earned by units which, first, participate in that program.
 
Units who achieve this award will be eligible to purchase a special pin for youth and adult members who which to wear one. The award pin will feature a distinct district logo along with the year the award was earned. ​

Criteria for this award will be six (6) items:

•    Achieving BRONZE or higher rating in all ‘Journey to Excellence’ objectives
•    Completing unit’s annual recharter paperwork before the target completion date
•    Hosting a Friends of Scouting presentation
•    Participating in Popcorn and/or Camp Card fundraisers
•    Submitting a current leader succession plan
•    Participating in monthly Roundtable meetings
